Dorothy Harvey
Formerly Niagara Children's Centre
Dorothy started her journey in the pediatric rehabilitation world in 1986 as the parent of complex needs daughter.

A physiotherapist by profession, she began working at the Niagara Children’s Centre in 1990 following the death of her daughter.

She began her pediatric career in a front-line position and after furthering her studies through various management related courses, she assumed progressively more responsible leadership roles eventually becoming the Centre’s Director of Clinical Services. Throughout her career she has kept the family perspective and accountability to families at the forefront.

Dorothy has chaired various EKO/OACRS committees as well as participated in national and provincial advisory groups related to best practices, performance measurement and family engagement.

As a parent, a clinician and a leader she has had the great fortune of numerous mentors along the way who have helped her along her journey and provided her with skills, perspective and insight. Giving back as a mentor has been one of the most rewarding parts of her career.
