Margaret Reid is the Director of Business Development and Strategic Client Engagement for Post Trade Services at the TMX Group’s Canadian Depository for Securities (CDS). In this role, she is responsible for ensuring continuous and effective client and stakeholder engagement to support Canada's equity, fixed income, money markets and exchange-traded derivative products. Margaret has a passion for continuous process improvement. She enjoys working with teams of individuals from different parts of the organization with a mandate to generate tangible business value and lead cultural change, through trust, collaboration and hard work.
Over the past 6 years, Margaret has led industry client engagement and change readiness as she worked directly with the Canadian Banks, Broker Dealers, Regulators and others to implement the new modernized and systemically important systems at CDS, supporting the Canadian Capital Market ecosystem.
Margaret has over 35 years experience within the Canadian financial marketplace, which includes over 19 years with the TMX Group. During this time, Margaret has held a wide range of management and leadership roles where her responsibilities included Strategic Relationship Management, Business Development / Sales, Entitlement & Corporate Action Processing, Securities Lending, International and Domestic Trade Settlements, Cash Management and Reconciliation activities, Canadian and U.S. Tax Withholding and Reporting, and Business Continuity Planning.
Margaret graduated from York University with a Honours BA in Public Policy and Business Administration and is a graduate of the Queen’s Executive Education program.
