Michael has over 20 years’ experience in the securities industry. He is currently Senior Legal Counsel with the British Columbia Securities Commission and is responsible for leading the Commission teams working on oversight of market infrastructure and the regulation of derivatives markets. Prior to joining the BC Securities Commission Michael was the Head of Legal for Alpha Group where he was involved in the creation of Alpha ATS. Prior to his work with Alpha he was Senior Counsel with Market Regulation Services Inc. where he was involved in the development of Canada’s Universal Market Integrity Rules. Michael possesses considerable experience in and knowledge of Canadian market structure issues and the regulation of trading in our markets.
